floating on trees

Pulau Ubin is one of the last rural areas in Singapore with amazing nature. Most people go there by bumboat to cycle across the island. Smooth clawed otters can be seen as well as hornbills and boars. They say all Singapore was once like Ubin Island today, which is named after its granite deposit. Speaking of names: "bumboat" – the small boat used as a ferry – comes from the combination of the Dutch word "boom" meaning tree and "boat".
